The final support event of the night, sponsored by Hybi Cig Cymru saw some of Wales top amateurs battle it out over 45 minutes plus two laps where Welsh Hill Climb champion Dan Evans of Rhos on Sea Cycling Club formed an eight man lead group which also included Ystwyth CC’s Carwyn Henson and Sean Grosvenor. Both local men rode superbly and were in the thick of the action all afternoon.
At the finish it was the experienced Evans and Cwmcarn Paragon’s Richie Harris who outsprinted the other six with Team Wallis-CHH youngster in third and Metaltek-Scotts Matt Rowe, brother of Team Sky professional Luke in fourth.
Ystwyth’s Henson was very close behind in fifth and Grosvenor eighth.
